_LX2200
This project continued the 'Legacy' series on the lifestyle side, honoring original bringbacks with new designs that would sit alongside them. The LX8500 was released as the pinnacle of both luxury and performance, like a high-end sports car, and the LX2200 was built to be a modern reinterpretation of that same direction.

The LX8500 featured all of the latest technologies available to Reebok at that moment. It combined an almost 10-piece tooling with an all-leather and snakeskin upper — not out of excess, but with performance in mind.
Technology in the 80's was much different than 90's. Instead of new compounds or technology taken from radical industries, runners were working with heel clips, layered EVA blocks, and geometric traction patterns. There was an almost brutalist approach that we wanted to imbed into the LX2200, and the form language was born out of that.
One of the initial pullovers for the upper and bottom — this concept was meant to tear down and rebuild the 80's running language. All of the building blocks were already in our archive, so we focused on building a newer, faster design language that would output something for today's era.
Working together with the factory, we used both hacked parts and 3D prints to finalize the concept.
Some of the final details on the shoe — patchwork traction outsole, reimagined internal arch bandage, and racing-inspired "rollcage" bar.
